Scott Saunders, a member of the winning team said he "went with his gut instinct" when he made his shock resignation from the boardroom. He said he wasn’t angry, but he looked pretty angry to me as he stormed off without a word to any of his winning team mates.
He’s not the first person to resign from the process, and I’m sure he won’t be the last, but the way he did it was very dramatic. To be fair, I think he realised he was out of his depth. He seemed to be getting more and more ground-down by the process and watching how his performance dipped over the past few weeks confirms it was the right decision for him.
I can’t understand why anyone would put themselves forward for this type of pressure – and yet still they do – The Apprentice, Big Brother, I’m a Celebrity. Being kept in a closed environment with a group of strangers must bring its own challenges.
I hope Scott recovers his confidence and enthusiasm. He certainly seemed bright enough on You’re Fired.
Speaking of which, Selina Waterman-Smith was fired from the boardroom and tweeted that she had broken her contract with the show and would not be taking part in the spin-off programme. To me that was a bigger shock. I know my memory is not what it was, but I can’t ever remember any one doing that before. She denied herself the opportunity to show us that she wasn’t a volatile, manipulative, sneaky, lazy troublemaker. Or maybe she confirmed it.
Oh well, on to next week.
